Red Bull and Verstappen in contract talks as retirement speculation continues
Financial terms and performance clauses remain unresolved as the four-time champion visits the factory but declines to set a timeline for any announcement.

Red Bull Racing and four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen are engaged in ongoing contract discussions, with financial terms and performance clauses reported to remain unresolved, according to sources familiar with the situation.
Team principal Christian Horner declined to confirm or deny the status of negotiations at a media appearance, describing the relationship with Verstappen as 'as strong as it has ever been' and characterising the team's focus as being on the championship. Mr. Horner did not set a timeline for any announcement.
Verstappen visited the Red Bull factory in Milton Keynes, his first appearance there since retirement speculation began, but did not speak to reporters. The visit was unannounced. A source familiar with the situation indicated that discussions 'could still go either way,' and that Verstappen had not yet made a final decision.
When asked directly on separate occasions whether he would continue racing beyond the current season, Verstappen declined to confirm his intentions. 'I'll make an announcement when the time is right,' Mr. Verstappen said. He did not elaborate further.
Verstappen, 27, holds four world championship titles. He has spoken publicly on multiple occasions about the importance of motivation in his continued participation in the sport.
